The Time Has Come! Only 60 Days Until Christmas...

Halloween is just around the corner and you know what that means: it's almost time to install your Christmas displays.

Energy Efficient Light Bulbs
How many new laws does it take to change a light bulb?

Apparently only one! In December of 2007, President George Bush signed a massive energy bill into law that will, among other things, spell the end of the traditional light bulb; including traditional bulbs used in Christmas lights. This law is set to phase out the ever-popular (but power-hungry) incandescent bulb in favor of more efficient fluorescent, halogen and LED bulbs. It specifically states that light bulbs must be 25 to 35 percent more efficient by 2012 to 2014.

If you're in need of replacement light strings this year, consider getting a jump on the demand and buy LED lights. We've found LED lights to be a joy to work with. The bulbs are sturdy and cool burning and don't even get us started on how long they last! Check out our selection today so you're ready for the new regulations.

Talk About Making Christmas Bright!
Display consultant Brian Goff has a client who's adding this eco-friendly, interactive element in their Christmas display. The location will have several bicycles, each connected to Christmas trees decked out with 12-volt LED lights. Guests can pedal and see the immediate effect of their efforts on the lights. The faster the rider pedals, the brighter the bulbs light. How's that for raising awareness and going green?

Celebrating Christmas Around the World

Bronner's Commercial Display has been honored to work with Dragon Hill Lodge, located on a U.S. Army base in Seoul, Korea. In addition to a giant Santa, Sleigh, and reindeer, they have purchased a 17' spiral tree with LED lamps. Santa suits, wigs, beards and several animated figures.

Dragon Hill is a part of the Armed Forces Recreation Center for the Army and their function is to support the U.S. Defense Force by providing recreation and morale-boosting services to the soldiers and their families.

Bronner's is proud to be a part of ensuring our soldiers have a very Merry Christmas – even when they're stationed halfway around the world!
